We took a few minutes to decorate the tree this weekend.  Many ornaments are made by Jason, Becca and Lavena as they went through school.   Along with ornaments from Nanna and Grampy they are my most precious ones.
I would like to take this time to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas and hope that everyone takes time to reflect on why we celebrate this holy holiday.
This is a creche set that Ethelyne Wight made for me one year and gave it to me a couple of days before Christmas.  We were just getting home one night from the Shrine Hospital with Rebecca in a half body cast when Ethelyne brought this large box in that she had been working on all year.  Ethelyne is a good friend and had perfect timing for this gift.

Two last things
We went to a celebration of life for a classmate of Jason and Richie's today.  Jacob Bartholomew  (36)
died in a tragic car accident about a month ago.  The Newry Grange was filled and over flowing with neighbors, friends and family to help support Jacob's family in this very difficult time.

The other thing
The passing of Nelson Mandela was a sad announcement this week.
If you have not read the book "A Long Walk to Freedom" you should take the time- it is well worth reading.
Nelson Mandela was a true inspiration to humanity.  Through courage, education, and perseverance he knew that his mind and heart were all that he had control of during parts of his life.  He chose to take the hard path, as he taught the world about humanity, and is well loved for his difficult journey.
