Today was special!!!!
We celebrated Brenna's Birthday.
She now has her own set of 10cent dolls as she calls them.  It is hard to believe that Brenna is 6 in just two days.
Be sure there are many more pictures to come.
Out of 37 trees that one is getting the most loyal tree award.  It produces about 2 gallons every day.
It has been sharing its sap with us for many years and has always given a lot.   The snow was so deep that Rich had to come over and pack the trail with his snowmobile.  I also had to change from my small sled that kept tipping over to a larger one.
This maple is getting the most improved tree award.  It is not that big, but it has given many full gallons this year.

My too helpers, which are job shadowing when it comes to pulling the sled.  They have not caught on yet, but I have hope for next year.

We had a really late start this year, but in 3 weekends we made 3 gallons and 1 quart of syrup.    Greg helped tend fires, move hot sap from the cook stove to the outside stoves and kept the gas and wood supplied for cooking.

The snow was very deep, but it has been melting slowly so we have not had any real flooding.  What you see is the large rock under water at our swimming hole.

The sap ran fast when it was running.  At times, I had 4- 6+ gallon Gerry jugs full, which is about 200 lbs.    It was a challenge to move, and when I got to our big hill I could only take 2 of them up at a time.
