I know that I am way behind blogging, but I just wanted to touch on some highlights of the past month.
Step Falls is always treat and the water runs cold and clear.  We took Anna and Jim up here because Jim had never seen it before.  The girls were the only ones who wanted to go in because it had rained hard the day before and was exceptionally cold.

Then we hiked Table Rock after coming down from Step Falls.  It was a beautiful day.

The famous AT sign.

The next day we rode our bikes to the Route 2 Diner for breakfast.  I got a head start and met them there.

This is the hike up Mt Washington.  I was so proud of Rebecca for making this hike and I hope that Dr. Babikin gets to see some pictures.  When she was in the hospital in Portland and she came out of her first hip replacement surgery, Dr. Babikin said look out your window you can see Mt Washington.   She did great and it was a thrill to see her hiking the highest mountain on the east coast.
This is a little out of order, but Tucker and Lavena provided Anna and Jim fresh lobster.  It is always interesting watching people attach a lobster.

Pictures on Mt Washington just don't do it justice.  It is surreal up there and you feel very small.

I was able to go home for a week and visit. Mom has wonderful PT and OT therapists.  She is building up her strength  and getting use to the folks there.

This is an old cargo ship used around 1812 to carry all kinds of goods.  It tours on the Erie Canal as a working museum.  It came in late and so when Dad and I got there it was closed for the night.

When I came home from NY it was time for the Perseid Meteor Shower.  So I don't have pictures of our set up, but Aug 11th Lavena, Tucker and I took our sleeping bags and pillows and climbed the ladder to our roof.  We stayed up there until we saw many shooting stars.  The air was very clear and the stars were awesome.  Then on Aug 12th I went over to Becca and Richie's and we went out in their boat, which Richie set up with lawn chairs, and we all climbed into our sleeping bags.  We drifted around waiting for more shooting stars.  Becca has much better pictures than I got.  Everyone was excited to see the streaks across the sky.  If you have not seen these you must catch it next year.  The Perseid Meteor Shower always occurs in Aug.
