K & 2nd

Pictures are worth a thousand words!

They both had a great day! The unknown was just as hard for me as Brenna! I'll admit I called the school half way through the day to check on her ;)

This was our trip to Jackman last weekend.  We had 3 days of wonderful motor cycle weather.  Jackman was a popular town for people moving from Canada to the US during the early years of our country.  It has a major water way the Kennebec  River and lakes which was a huge system for transporting logs and food.

The motor cycles are running well and the riders are not doing too bad either.

We sat by this lake for a while and a baby Newfound puppy came by.  It looked like a little bear with a tail, weighing 15 lbs at 10 weeks old.

Of course the news paper.

A beautiful lake dotted with many islands.

This last Wednesday Kate(teacher from THS) and I rode our bikes from Newry to Becca and Richie's to kayak and swim and then ride home.

THis is an underwater shot from Round Pond.

This was the water lily with the most vivid color.

THis is the Pitcher Plant it is a carnivore, eating bugs:)  It is shaped like a tube that has fine hairs pointing downward with liquid in the bottom.  The bug gets in and can not get out.  I have only found these on Round Pond in the cattails.

Becca, Richie Estella and Brenna joined us on the big rock for lunch.  Then the girls where hot shot riding on the tube around the pond.

We had a treasure hunt!  First the girls had to find the map and then they had to follow the map to find the treasure.  The clues took us to the river where we had lunch and swam.  Then the hidden map was found and they were on the go.

Everyone had to stay together.

Estella had to read the directions which were more clues.  Then they had to figure out where the clue was sending them.

This was a good idea for the hot weather, but the water balloon sling shots did not work as claimed.  They ended up using me as a target.   Today looks like rain so we will need to find something else to do.

Santa's Village with Momma

The last treat we had yet to try at SV was decorating your own ginger bread cookie! Since Granny was with us, she made it an extra special day and surprised us =)

they were delicious
!!!

I think we were only there 2 hours (the nice part of having seasons passes!!) but it was a fabulous 2 hours!!

Joe & Cathy

Today we returned Cruz to the woman we bought him from, it was a crazy hard decision, and is making me sick thinking about it, but he was putting us all over the edge...he will end up in a much better suited home for him. We will miss the little bugger big time, he was a sweet boy! It is funny how much love you can have for someone after only  month & a half. Lots of love to you Cruz!

Jason, this is the mountain behind Joe's trailer, the cliffs you can see from the Newry corner!!

Step falls!!
freezing but awesome!

we all stayed at Granny & Pop's (they were on an overnight bike ride to Jackman!) it was weird being there with out them, but we did have a good time!
Stella looked around half way through the night and said, "wait, where are Granny & Pop?"
it was hilarious!
Lavena and I snuck in a quick hand of Casino!
then Crazy 8's with the kiddos!
